Another hidden treasure in Mississippi

This is my second time to Brookhaven MS in last 3 months! I grew up going every summer for a week to stay with my great aunt and uncle-Aunt Litup and Uncle Teenie Becker. I have such fond memories. They had the local brickyard which was a compound it seemed. They had a grass tennis court, a huge garden and we always went to the local county fair.

Our good friends Helen and Johnny Lynch invited us. It was a men’s golf trip but the wives got to tag along. They have been apart of helping to revitalize the downtown area.

First- if you go book sure to book a room at The Inn on Whitworth https://innonwhitworth.com/. It is so cozy and charming. Local talented artists Kim Sessums and Ed Williford have done all of the art and it’s museum-like! The rooms are extremely comfortable and the breakfast is incredible. The innkeeper is Sallie and she takes care of anything you need!

Second-go to Betty’s. It is a local lunch and dinner spot.

Tortilla Soup is also a delicious and local Mexican spot.

We took a tour through Captain Jacks Guest House. It’s a 1877 National Historic Register antebellum home. It’s an BnB and they host private events. https://www.captainjacksguesthouse.com/

My husband and his golf friends enjoyed playing at Ole Brook .https://theclubsatolebrook.com/the-ole-brook/
