We wanted to go visit our son in Colorado and also take a vacation. We were not wanting to fly on a plane so we decided to drive. It’s about a 20-ish hour drive from Mississippi. We first stopped in Dallas and stayed with a friend and ate dinner with some friends and had a great time. We got up early the next morning and left in a huge lightning storm before 6 AM and got to Colorado Springs by 6 PM. It was a long day in the car. We listened to the podcast called “Missing in Alaska” for most of the day. We stopped in Amarillo for lunch and ate at a wonderful healthy place called Eat Rite. That night we stayed at the Broadmoor and thoroughly enjoyed it. The next day we drove to Steamboat and stayed three days. They got 8 to 10 inches of snow while we were there and the temperature got down to -10. We stayed at the Inn at Steamboat – and loved it. It is quite small but a great place to stay. You get breakfast, hot tea, and cookies in the afternoon. They also have a washing machine that you can use.

We went to watch our son Harrison at work. They were doing pregnancy checks on over 200 cows at the ranch that day.

The next day we went with him to feed the cows and horses.

This is Panda, my Granddog. He is a wonderful ranch dog and loves telling the cows where to go!

After 3 days in Steamboat, we drove back to The Broadmoor for 3 more days. Then headed back to Mississippi. We listened to the Audiobook called “The last Plane in the Sky.” It was fascinating.

We ‘celebrated’ our anniversary… just a few months late!
