🏈 Fiesta Bowl 2026 🏈

Ole Miss was in the final four top football teams in the country! It has been an exciting season! Ole Miss had never been to the Fiesta Bowl! This is a BIG deal! So we made a girls trip out of it. My sisters, Tay and Mary Payne and good friend Camille booked our flights, got our hotel rooms..and my sister found us game tickets.

Southwest airlines was super smart and made some direct flights from Jackson to Phoenix. The airport was hopping, everyone was in in red and all so excited! Rebel fans were everywhere!

It was an easy flight. I rented a car through Turo. It’s like a Airbnb for cars. When we got to the Westin we hung out in the lobby, got a quick snack and meet friends!

We saw and visited with Brad Logan who has a podcast. He was about to go live and asked us to stick around. He interviewed Tay and I. Go to 12 minute mark for some laughs.. https://x.com/bradlogancote/status/2009073034314043768?s=61&t=XT5cMwUi_tcwMdOWMHcNqg

We had reservations at The Culinary Dropout https://www.culinarydropout.com/locations/scottsdale-az-scottsdale-quarter/ at the Quarters that night. The hotel concierge had recommended it. It was almost within walking distance of hotel. My cousin George and his daughter Eliza joined us. Everything is cooked at the moment you order! They also had fabulous mocktails!

The next morning, we got ready for the day. We went and visited with people in the lobby and then went to eat at the Zinc Bistro. https://www.zincbistro.com/ A lot of Rebels were there. We loved our lunch and especially the French press coffee. They also have an another location in the Phoenix airport. Lots of fabulous stores in that area. We went into Anthropology just for a few minutes and Camille and I each bought a sweater. The lady working in there said it’s the top Anthropology in the country.

Our red Turo. It was a Chevrolet Trax. We loved it.

Lots of Rebel fans and friends everywhere.

We then took off for the stadium. We had heard nightmares about the highway being clogged up and traffic being really bad but we had no problems. It took us a minute to find our parking lot but once we did, we were right by the entrance to the Fan Feast. We took advantage of everything and walked all around. Saw a lot of people we knew. One of the local Fox television stations interviewed us. https://www.fox10phoenix.com/video/fmc-6s6wgaywf47qrtan

There was a little bit of rain that day. Some of our friends saw some hail. Phoenix called it a ‘winter storm’.

The red sunglasses may or may not have come home with Mary Payne .

Once we got in the stadium, we walked around and found our seats. It is a super nice stadium. We were on the club level that had lots of seating and dining opportunities. There were so many Rebel fans! All dressed in red!

The game was fantastic. There were definitely more Rebel fans there. Constant cheering (Hotty Toddy and Let’s go Rebels!) went on the entire game. Rebel fans are just fun to be around. We are so glad we decided to go to the game and wish that we had advanced to Miami.
