1. Songwriters Festival on 30A.

We loved the songwriters we got to hear this year!

Our favorites are Mary Gautier, Jaimme Harris, Will Kimbrough, Livingston Taylor, Kim Richey, Gretchen Peters and the Gospel Brunch (Karyn Williams and Brian White). We love the smaller venues as opposed to the big field venue on Grand Blvd. This year the headliners were Jeff Tweedy, Elvis Costello, Roseanne Cash and a few more. We were not impressed with Steve Earl, even though he was nice when we met him at lunch.

We are not songwriting or learning how to songwrite but just listening to artists singing and sharing how they write their songs.

2. Pledge Class Reunion (42 years) (ours was with 2 other classes)

We met in Oxford on a Thursday and Friday and had so much fun! Thursday night we gathered and ate at Lenora’s. Friday was lunch at Opa and dinner/party at Lamar Yard.

3. Disney cruise on the Magic with mom and sisters

This was my second cruise on a Disney ship. They are very fun, super clean and you don’t have to see a Disney character if you don’t want to.. Yes there are kids everywhere and many kids and adults dressed up in their favorite character but if you do your own thing it doesn’t bother you. We loved the spa and the restaurant Palo including the regular restaurant rotations.
